scientific name

Chlorogloea sp.2
status

Chlorogloea sp.2 ( Fig. 9I View FIGURE 9 ).

Colonies round to irregular, 11.7–35.55 µm wide. Sub-colonies densely arranged, ± spherical, quadratic to polygonal. Sheath firm, smooth, thin, blackish. Cells radial rows or irregular arranged, spherical to irregularly spherical, 0.7–2.03 µm wide. Individual envelope absence. Cell content homogenous, purple to blackish. Without cell in resting stage.

Habitat:— Tree bark; associated with Aphanocapsa sp. and Chondrocystis sp.

Notes:— The corticolous habitat, cell dimensions and the absence of an individual envelope around cells differ this morphotype from other Chlorogloea species.

Studied material:— PEUFR55787
