Brasilonema epidendron C.L. Sant’Anna et J. Komárek in Sant’Anna et al. (2011:52) ( Fig. 11I–L View FIGURE 11 ).

Filaments forming fascicles conical, erect and parallel, 9.17–13.69 µm wide. Sheath firm, (0.62) 1.02–2.06 µm wide, non-lamellated, hyaline to brown. Trichomes with false geminate branches near substrate, constricted or not. Cells isodiametric to cylindrical, 6.67–10.9 µm wide, 4.52–9.79 µm long, ratio l/w = 0.82. Apical cells rounded. Cell content granulated, blue-green. Heterocyte cylindrical, isodiametric to short, 7.67–11.17 µm wide, 5.67–15.95 µm long. Necridia present. Hormogonia 5–13 cells, slightly constricted.

Habitat: —Epiphytic on moss on rocks.
