Type Locality: Equatorial Guinea, Bioko, Pic Santa Isabel, 2400 m.

Vernacular Names: Eisentraut's Mouse Shrew.

Distribution: Montane forest of Bioko ( Fernando Po).

Conservation: IUCN – Endangered.

Discussion: The forms okuensis and rumpii were included in eisentrauti by Heim de Balsac and Meester (1977); both were regarded as distinct species by Hutterer (1993 a).
