Remarks. Hanitsch (1910) described receiving a live specimen of P. megacephalum caught near Bukit Timah, which Boulenger (1912) believed was likely introduced from China. This is most likely ZRC.2.209 at LKCNHM, which was collected on 5 October 1909. Platysternon megacephalum is native to China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam (TTWG 2021).
