Remarks. A specimen of Eremias scripta (MCZ R-460) said to be from Singapore was collected by Putnam on 30 September 1859. The specimen could not have originated from Singapore as E. scripta is native to western Asia ( Ananjeva et al. 2006). Unfortunately, we were unable to examine the specimen as it is no longer at MCZ, having been sent to Cope in 1891. The specimen must have either been introduced into Singapore or the locality written in the catalogue is incorrect.
