Lygosoma punctata — Geissler & Kupfer, 2019: 295.

Remarks. On assessing the taxonomic status of Lygosoma (Keneuxia) dubium, Geissler & Kupfer (2019) reported a specimen NKS 3650 (presently SMNS-1211) of L. punctata stored at SMNS that is believed to have been collected in Singapore by Mayer. Mayer is known to have collected specimens throughout Southeast Asia, China, and Japan. As L. punctata ranges from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Vietnam (Somaweera & Somaweera 2009a), there is a good chance that SMNS-1211 was a trade specimen or it has been misidentified. Unfortunately, we were unable to examine the specimen to verify its identity. If the specimen is indeed L. punctata , then it’s likely that the locality reported is incorrect or the specimen was a stowaway.

LKCNHM & NHMUK Museum specimens. No specimens.

Additional Singapore museum specimens. Singapore (no locality): SMNS.
