Pareas carinatus (Wagler, 1830) — Erroneous.
Keeled Slug Snake
Singapore records.
No published records.
Remarks. A specimen of P. carinatus (ZMH R11553) has the locality Singapore, but lacks any other pertinent data. Pareas carinatus covers a broad distribution from southern Myanmar east to southern China, south to northern Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, and Bali, Java, Lombok, and Sumatra in Indonesia. As the southern extent of P. carinatus range is northern Peninsular Malaysia (Wallach et al. 2014)., then there is no chance that it is native to Singapore. Instead, the specimen was likely imported or shipped through Singapore by wildlife traders.
