Type :— MADAGASCAR. “Central Madagascar” Oct 1882, R. Baron 1626 (lectotype, K, barcode K000033220 , designated here; isolectotype, P, barcode P00518097 ) .
Notes:—The designated lectotype was collected by Perrottet in 1820, and although it was not cited by Richard (1830), it undoubtedly constitutes original material since it was annotated by Richard as “ Psydrax media nob. Rich”.
The lectotype of Plectronia umbellata is designated here since there are duplicates of Baron 1626.
