Comparison of the holotype of Dorcasta prolongata View in CoL with photographs of the holotype and original description of Dorcasta lignea View in CoL allows us to conclude that they are the same species both currently under Bebelis Thomson, 1864 View in CoL . There is no recorded difference in the original descriptions, and the types are very similar in all characters, including the position of the spots of pubescence on head, pronotum and elytra. Thus, Bebelis prolongata View in CoL is considered herein a new synonym of B. lignea View in CoL .
