Gerrhonotus ophiurus ( Sánchez-García et al. 2020) . This alligator lizard was reported for the first time in the state, in the Planicie Costera del Golfo physiographic region at 253 m elevation .
Norops alvarezdeltoroi . This species of anole used to be known only from Chiapas. Now its distribution also includes Veracruz and Oaxaca ( Scarpetta et al. 2015). In Oaxaca it was reported in the SMC (Chimalapas) .
Norops beckeri . Castañeda-Hernández et al. (2015) reported this anole species for the first time in Oaxaca, in the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca physiographic region.
Anelytropsis papillosus . This species was reported by Valdez-Villavicencio et al. (2016) based on specimens from the Planicie Costera del Golfo.
Hemidactylus turcicus . Mata-Silva et al. (2016) reported this exotic gecko species in the Planicie Costera de Tehuantepec.
Heloderma alvarezi . Recently, García-Grajales et al. (2020) reported this species of beaded lizard from three localities along the Planicie Costera del Pacífico.

Phrynosoma orbiculare . The first report of this horned lizard in Oaxaca was by Ibarra-Contreras et al. (2016), in the Montaňas y Valles del Occidente physiographic region .
Sceloporus scitulus . Himes (2020) reported this species of scaly lizard for the first time in the state. This species falls in the Montaňas y Valles del Occidente physiographic region. The publication erroneously lists the state of Jalisco , but it should be Oaxaca.
Holcosus amphigrammus . This teiid species was elevated from the subspecies level and indicated to occur in eastern Oaxaca ( Meza-Lázaro & Nieto-Montes de Oca 2015).
Holcosus parvus . This teiid species was elevated from the subspecies level and demonstrated to occur from isthmian Oaxaca southward ( Meza-Lázaro & Nieto-Montes de Oca 2015).
Boa sigma . This species of boa is distributed west of the Isthmus and Boa imperator is distributed on the Gulf side ( Card et al. 2016).
Masticophis lineatus . O’Connell & Smith (2018) elevated the subspecies Masticophis mentovarius striolatus to M. lineatus . Although there is no specific information on the distribution of this species in Oaxaca, we tentatively place it in the MVO, FT, SMO, VCO, MVC, SMS, and PCP physiographic regions.
Tantilla sertula . An individual of this species was reported by Rocha et al. (2016) for the first time in Oaxaca, in the Planicie Costera del Pacífico, in the foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur .
Coniophanes taeniatus . Recently, Palacios-Aguilar & Flores-Vilella (2020) assigned populations of Coniophanes piceivittis from the Atlantic versant to C. taeniatus and indicated it to occur in northern Oaxaca.
Geophis semidoliatus . This species was reported for the first time in Oaxaca by Vázquez-Vega et al. (2016), in the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca.
Leptodeira splendida . Cisneros-Bernal et al. (2020) reported for the first time this dipsadid snake in the state, in El Zapote (Montañas y Valles del Occidente physiographic region).
Bothriechis schlegelii . Wylie & Grünwald (2016) reported this species as a new state record, in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas physiographic region.
Cerrophidion petlalcalensis . De La Torre-Loranca et al. (2019) reported this species as new for Oaxaca, from the Sierra Madre de Oaxaca physiographic region.
Ophryacus sphenophrys . This pitviper was reported by Grünwald et al. (2015) in the Sierra Madre del Sur, from elevations of 1,340–1,460 m .
Mata-Silva et al. (2015) neglected to include eight species in their paper that already had been reported in the state.
