Bolitoglossa mexicana . This species of mushroomtongue salamander previously was known from the vicinity of Las Choapas in the state of Veracruz (Aguilar-López & Canseco-Márquez 2007) but without reference to a specific locality with coordinates. The first specimen for Oaxaca was found in 2017 in the vicinity of Santa María Chimalapa, in the municipality of the same name in the Sierra Madre de Chiapas ( SMC) physiographic region ( García-Padilla et al. 2019) .
Ixalotriton niger . Rovito et al. (2017) found a population at Cerro Baúl, in the Chimalapas (Sierra Madre de Chiapas physiographic region). See the account for Cenaspis aenigma regarding this locality.
