Currently considered a synonym of Bradyporidae Burmeister, 1838

The authorship is often incorrectly given as Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1882. Although he mentions Pycnogaster, Brunner never uses a family-group name based on the genus; the first author to do so is instead Bolívar (1926).
