Takes priority over Locustariae Latreille, 1802 and Phasgonuridae Karsch, 1893 as their type genera ( Locusta Fabricius, 1775 and Phasgonura Stephens, 1835 ) are considered synonyms of Tettigonia , the family-group names were replaced prior to 1961, and the name is in prevailing usage ( ICZN Article 40.2). In replacing Locustariae , it takes 1802 as its date of priority.
