Holotype. ♂, Hainan Province, Jianfeng (18°43'N, 108°48'E, 700m), 19-V-2004, Guang-Chun Liu.
Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the arrangement pattern of the peg-like bristles on posterior face of hind femur.
Remarks. In the key to Dohrniphora males (Disney, 1990), the species runs to the couplet 30 to D. bradburyi Disney. It is different from latter by the rectangular arranged complex of peg-like bristles. In terms of arrangement of peg-like bristles it is somewhat similar to D. cornuta (Bigot) , but different in having only 1–2 hairs on upper parts of posterior face of hind femur.
