Material examined by Martins & Santos-Silva (2010) from Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil exhibited metafemora with incomplete black bands that were incomplete internally.

The first author was fortunate to have available a large series of Agaone peruviensis from Brazil (Rondônia), collected in a Malaise trap. Several of these individuals had complete metafemoral bands internally, while most specimens had the bands broken internally as indicated in the key. This series also has the lateral part of the pronotum with several punctures, shallower than the dorsal punctures, similar to A. punctilla (the pronotal maculations of these two species are distinctly different). Additionally, one specimen examined from Ecuador (Yasuni research Station, Napo) has three small separate black pronotal marks which are heavily punctured and are very slightly elevated (rather than the single macula exhibited by all the other specimens). A photograph of this specimen can be found at: http://plant.cdfa.ca.gov/byciddb/default_wImage.asp

Material examined. ECUADOR, Napo: Yasuni Research Station, 2 males, 19–30.X.1998, W. J. Hanson ( LGBC), and 1 female, 30.IX–12.X.2002, C. Brammer ( LGBC). BRAZIL, Rondônia: 62 km SE Ariquemes, 1 male, 23 females, 5–16.XI.1996, W. J. Hanson, malaise trap ( LGBC). BOLIVIA, Santa Cruz: 5 km SSE Buena Vista, 1 male, I.2010 and 1 male, XII.2008 ( LGBC), Buena Vista, 1 male, 16.II.99, F.D. Parker ( LGBC), La Paz: 5 km W Mapiri, 1 female, 16–18.III.2001, F.D.
