Generitype of Beta Linnaeus.

Current name: Beta vulgaris L. subsp. vulgaris View in CoL ( Chenopodiaceae ).

Note: Larsen (in Morat, Fl. Cambodge Laos Viêtnam 24: 91. 1989) wrongly indicated 314.3 (LINN) as type. It lacks a Species Plantarum number (i.e. “1”) and was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and is not original material for the name.
