Recorded hosts.

Aves: Turdus pallidus Gmelin (pale thrush) ( Bolotin and Kolonin 1979).

Recorded locations

(Fig. 37 View Figure 37 ). Russia: Primorsky Krai, Nadezhdinsky District, the right shore of the Razdolnaya River ( Bolotin and Kolonin 1979).

Ecology and other information.

Ixodes turdus is a bird-associated tick species that can be found usually in East Asia, especially in Nepal, Korea, and Japan ( Takahashi and Chunikhin 1972; Clifford et al. 1975; Ishiguro et al. 2000; Kim et al. 2009 b; Sato et al. 2021). The single case of finding I. turdus in the Far East of Russia is considered a result of transportation ( Bolotin and Kolonin 1979). Some occasions of parasitism on humans ( Woo et al. 1990; Kadosaka and Hasegawa 1996), as well as on wild boars ( Chae et al. 2017) are also recorded.
