Description of Leifsonia poae BM View in CoL 24

Cells are Gram-staining-positive and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, smooth, convex, glistening and yellow colored after 3 days on MA at 30°C. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease and gelatinase, but positive for esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase in API 20NE. DGlucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-maltose and N - acetyl-glucosamine are utilized. Does not utilize D-mannitol, potassium gluconate, malic acid, trisodium citrate, phenylacetic acid, capric acid and adipic acid. Strain BM24 (= NIBRBA0000114307) has been isolated from mud flat, Wando, Jeonnam Province, Korea.
