( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 , Fig. 9b View FIGURE 9 )

Description. Shell up to 40 mm in length, ovate, and broader to anterior to narrow posterior and moderately elevated. Apex is straight, pointed and sub-central. Sculpture consisting of numerous, narrow, radial riblets around 62 to 72, in some large specimens, up to 100. Coloration varies from greyish to black, with 4 to 5 bifid white lighter radial stripes observed on brown background, inner surface of shell has pearl white coloration. Radular morphology. ( Fig. 9b View FIGURE 9 ). Radula Type: Docoglossan, Formula: 1 + D1 + 1 + D1 +1. The radular ribbon of C. radiata is similar to that of C. karachiensis . In every row, there is a spear-shaped very small rachidian or middle tooth and one bifurcated lateral tooth on each side. One dominant marginal tooth on each side that is also bifurcated.

Materials examined. Specimens were collected from Uttambar coast, Maharashtra (17°53’33.1”N 73°03’40.8”E) and Konkan coastline, Karnataka. Four specimens (length 14.2–30.3 ± 5.77 mm, width 12.1–25.8 ± 4.95 mm and Height 10.1–4 ± 2.46 were examined. One specimen is deposited in the Museum (ZMGDNC51.18, coll. Bhavik Vakani).

Remarks. Powell (1973) indicated that this species is common in the Indo-Pacific. In our study, this species was found from all over the west coast of India except of the Gujarat coastline.
