Material examined. Stn. MEL01, 08.iii.2005, 10– 15 m, S75: several sterile colonies epizoic on Symplectoscyphus filiformis and polychaete tube, 2 slides; S76: a sterile colony epizoic on Sertularella argentinica .
Remarks. I grouped under Filellum spp. all the material with hydrothecae whose dimensions and/or morphology do not fit precisely into measurements corresponding to F. serratum or F. cf. magnificum . All the hydrothecae examined have the upper surface of the adnate part more or less striated. Considering the degree of variation in the shape and size of hydrotheca, the variable number of striae, and the absence of gonosome, it is possible that more than one species may exist amongst the material mentioned here.
Records from Chile. The present material originates from the north-west of Melika.
