New material. New Guinea, " Sattelberg ", " Huon Golf ", 1899, leg. Biró, 1 ♀ HNHM.

New combination. According to a label this specimen was compared with type material by the late Dr. Kaszab. This specimen does not possess a deep excavation externally at the tip of the elytra and is therefore assigned to Spiloscapha Bates, 1873 and not to Basanus Lacordaire, 1857 . Aedeagus unknown. Distribution. New Guinea.
