Lectotype (Irvine in Spencer & al. in Taxon, in press): [icon] " Conferva marina gelatinosa, Corallinae instar geniculata, crassior " in Dillenius, Hist. Musc.: 33, t. 6, f. 36. 1741. - Voucher: Herb. Dillenius ( OXF) .

Current name: Griffithsia corallinoides (L.) Trevis. ( Ceramiaceae ).

Note: Although some authors (e.g. Silva in Taxon 29: 134, 1980) have treated this as a superfluous name for C. corallinoides L. (1753) , it has also been treated as an orthographic variant (see Spencer & al. in Taxon, in press).
