Key to Camptonotus View in CoL species (modified from Hebard, 1932)
1. Pro-, meso-, metanotum, and all abdominal tergites are outlined in dark brown or black. First abdominal tergite and dorsal surface of the last abdominal segments black.......................................................... C. affinis
Pro-, meso- and metanotum are not outlined in black. Abdominal tergites not outlined, or if so, on the posterior margin and dark brown. The last abdominal segments may or may not be pigmented, if they are in shades from light to dark brown.................................................................................................. C. carolinensis
