DISTRIBUTION: NW Brazil, E Peru.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA - Endangered; IUCN - Vulnerable.

SYNONYMS: novaesi, rubicundus, ucayalii.

COMMENTS: Includes rubicundus; see Hershkovitz (1972a), but also see Szalay and Delson (1979:290) who listed it as a distinct species.
