Type locality. Tasmania .

Material examined. South Australia. 3 specimens, MV J56558 , ‘ The Hotspot’ Reef, 5 nautical miles west of Flinders Island (33°40’48”S 134°22’30”E), 21 m, 20 April 1985 ( SA 72 ) ; 1 male, MV J57143 , ‘ The Hotspot’ Reef, 5 nautical miles west of Flinders Island (33°40’30 S 134°22’00”E), 17 m, 19 April 1985 ( SA 65 ) ; 1 male, 1 female, SAMA C6583 , approximately 3 km west north-west of Margarett Brock Lighthouse, off Cape Jaffa (36°57’9”S 139°39’51”E), 13–19 m, reef, ridges, crevices, overhangs and a few sand pockets, 17 February 1989, coll. W. Zeidler and K.L. Gowlett-Holmes.

Victoria. 1 male, MV J56595 , Port Franklin (38°41’S 146°17’E), 3 April 1963, not further data ; 2 males, 1 female, AM P.18346, 16 km north of Circular Head (40°37'27"S 145°18'25"E), 1909–1914, coll. FIS Endeavour, no further data ; 30 specimens, AM P.3488, Griffiths Point (38°32'S 145°22'E), no further data .

Remarks. Material examined provides new citations of the species from historic collections.
