Material examined. Tasmania. 1 male, 1 female, SAMA C6477 About SAMA , off O’Hara Bluff , Tasman Penninsula (43°5’17”S 147°57’53”E), 10–15 m, on bryozoans, 2 August 1991, coll. K.L. Gowlett-Holmes & G. Myors. GoogleMaps

South Australia. 1 male, 1 female, C6476, off Cape D’Estaing Reef, Kangaroo Island (35°34’47”S 137°29’29”S), ~ 20 m, sand, red algae, 28 January 1989, Coll. K.L. Gowlett-Holmes ; 1 males, C6472, extreme south end of Pondalowie Bay, Yorke Penninsula (35°13’30”S 136°50’15”S), under rocks at low tide, 7 November 1976, coll. W. Zeidler and I.C. Kowanko.

Remarks. Material examined extends the range of H. hirtipalma into Tasmania.
