Remarks. These records extend the current known distribution from southern mainland Australia to Tasmania. Material figured here from Western Australia and Tasmania adheres to the original description of material from Victoria. Slight variation in gnathopod 2 palm scultpting is noted with size from the 11.0 mm holotype specimen, and material drawn here of individuals measuring 8.2 mm and 12.0 mm in body length.

The specimens of H. marilla from Fortescue Bay are the deepest known record of a Hoho species , collected at 400 m depth. The presence of a maerid in a baited trap sample is unusual and considered to be incidental, owing to their absence from intensive baited trap surveys along the Australian East Coast.
