Genus Kivua Forsius, 1934
Kivua Forsius, 1934: 398 . Type species: Kivua seydeli Forsius, 1934 , by original designation. Pseudoneacidiophora Koch, 1998a: 7 –8. Type species: Pseudoneacidiophora bicolor Koch, 1998a , by original designation. syn. n.
Remarks. Pseudoneacidiophora Koch, 1998a is a synonym of Kivua Forsius based on comparison of type specimens. Koch (1998a) erected Pseudoneacidiophora because of the nearly complete development of 2A+3A in the fore wing of the type species, that is very faintly indicated in most Kivua , although highly variable. Pasteels (1949) described intraspecific variability in the anal vein of Kivua species, using K. seydeli as an example. He noted that similar variability occurred in several other Kivua species. Kivua is only known from the Afrotropical Region, and now comprises 16 valid species (see Koch & Liston 2012c), after inclusion of the two species formerly placed in Pseudoneacidiophora:
Kivua camerunensis comb. n., nom. n. for Pseudoneacidiophora bicolor Koch, 1998 ( Koch 1998a: 10) . The specific epithet bicolor is preoccupied in Kivua by K. bicolor ( Pasteels, 1949) (= Bicrista bicolor Pasteels ) ( Koch & Liston 2012c: 647). No other name is available for P. b i c o l o r Koch, so a new name is proposed for the secondary homonym. Etymology: Named after Cameroon, the country where its type locality is located.
