Diagnosis. Males of Songthela can be distinguished from all other Heptathelinae genera by contrategulum with dense dentations ( Figs 3A, 3D View FIGURE 3 , 4A, 4D View FIGURE 4 , 5A, 5D View FIGURE 5 , 6A, 6D View FIGURE 6 ); by conductor with one or two apical spines, middle portion smooth or covered with several teeth ( Figs 3A–E View FIGURE 3 , 4A–4E View FIGURE 4 , 5A–5E View FIGURE 5 , 6A–E View FIGURE 6 ); by embolus with a wide and flat opening ( Figs 3A, 3D View FIGURE 3 , 4A, 4D View FIGURE 4 , 5A, 5D View FIGURE 5 , 6A, 6D View FIGURE 6 ). Songthela females differ from all other Heptathelinae genera by two pairs of receptacular clusters, median ones with obvious tubular genital stalks located on anterior margin of bursa copulatrix or slightly situated dorsally, lateral ones located relatively dorsolaterally ( Figs 3H–O View FIGURE 3 , 4H–M View FIGURE 4 , 5H–M View FIGURE 5 , 6H–M View FIGURE 6 ).
