Raise of Leuctra signifera jahorinensis Kaćanski, 1972 View in CoL to species level
Since this very rare taxon, reported only from two sampling stations in the Jahorina Mountains in Bosnia-Herzegovina, clearly differs from all other known species of the L. signifera group ( Kaćanski, 1972; Figs. E1–E View FIGURES A 6), it should be raised to species level. Leuctra signifera jahorinensis is presently the only brachypterous taxon ( Fig. E1 View FIGURES A ) known from the L. signifera species group. Because Kaćanski (1972) followed Mosely (1932) for her definition of L. signifera (adult males with narrow posteromedial process; Fig. A5), there is no reason to consider her L. s. jahorinensis as a subspecies of L. signifera in this sense, since the posteromedial process of L. s. jahorinensis (Figs. E2–E3) is much wider and has a very deep medial incision. By these features, adult males of L. s. jahorinensis are even closer to those of L. signifera sensu Kempny ( Figs. C1 View FIGURES A , C5).
