Material examined. Twelve specimens: Alaska ( USA), LACM-AHF N10714 View Materials (approx. 56º15’N, 158º09’W, Castle Bay, off Chignik Bay, Alaska King Crab Investigation, sta. D3–41, 38– 95 m, June 24, 1941, as? Apomatus sp. ). California ( USA), LACM-AHF 180, type (33º26’21”N, 118º52’41”W, Santa Catalina Basin, 13.6 km of S. Light. Santa Barbara Island, sta. 2130, on dead shells of brachiopods Lacqueus, mud, 1,280 m, June 26, 1952, as Vermiliopsis biformis ); LACM-AHF s.n., 9 spec. (33º24’15–30”N, 118º21’33– 35”W, 0.5 km from Long Point Light, Santa Catalina Island, Velero IV, sta. 2128, sand, on dead Lacqueus shells, 77–122 m, June 25, 1952); MBL-SD s.n. (approx. 32º40’N, 117º25’W, off San Diego, RV, sta. B– 13, 116 m, Oct. 4, 2001).

Diagnosis. Tube white, long, slender and sinuous, with longitudinal ridge, some specimens with peristomes. Opercular peduncle smooth, sometimes annulated ( Fig. 5H). Operculum sub-oval to rounded ( Figs 5F, H). Six thoracic chaetigers ( Fig. 5E). Collar with chaetae (more or less) fin-and-blade, with basal denticulate expansion and smooth limba ( Fig. 5G). “ Apomatus ” chaetae absent. Thoracic uncini with multiple rows of teeth and gouged peg.

Habitat. Depth: 38– 1,280 m. In shelf, slope and canyon depths. On Lacqueus shells (brachiopods).

Distribution. North-eastern Pacific. Alaska to California, USA ( Hartman 1969).
