Genus Macrolibnetis Pic, 1938

Macrolibnetis Pic, 1938: 280 .

Type species: Macrolibnetis depressus Pic, 1938 (by monotypy).

Remarks. The genus Macrolibnetis Pic, 1938 was separated by the author of the taxon from the similar Platerodrilus Pic, 1921 only by the relatively smaller head, longer narrow antennae and wider in distal portion elytra ( Pic, 1938), but was placed in a different family, Lycidae , whereas Platerodrilus in Pic’s opinion belonged to Drilidae . Macrolibnetis was synonymized with Platerodrilus after its holotype was studied ( Bocakova, 2001), but was reinstated later based on the data provided by molecular analyses ( Bocak & Bocakova, 2008; Masek & Bocak, 2014). Only one species is described in this genus.
