Type species: Lyroneces orcinus Kazantsev, 1998 (by original designation).

Remarks. Lyropaeus (Lyroneces) can be separated from Lyropaeus s. str. by the strongly concave pronotal sides and prominent elytral shoulders, as well as by the relatively short parameres of the aedeagus ( Figs 6–7, 9–10 ).

Distribution. Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java, and Borneo (Masek et al., 2014).
