Type Locality: Peru, Cajamarca, Hualgayoc, Hac. Ninabamba.
Vernacular Names: Buffy Broad-nosed Bat.
Synonyms: Platyrrhinus fumosus Miller 1902 ; Platyrrhinus intermedius Marinkelle 1970 .
Distribution: Colombia to Peru, Bolivia, and NW Brazil.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: Includes intermedius and fumosus ; see Gardner and Carter (1972), who also designated a neotype for infuscus .
