We know little about Cyphomella species in Alaska. In Europe, the larvae are reported to occur in sandy sediments of large rivers ( Pinder 1995). We collected unknown larvae from the Yukon River near Nulato, Alaska. This is a new faunistic genus record for Alaska. Four named species are known from the Holarctic ( Epler et al. 2013).
