Guttipelopia Fittkau, 1962 View in CoL
We found Guttipelopia guttipennis (v. d. Wulp, 1861) larvae in Twin Lakes in Juneau, Loon Lake north of Naukati, Prince of Wales Island, in a small lake between Naukati and Coffman Cove, Prince of Wales Island, in a small quarry pond near Gustavus, and Warm Fish Lake on Kupreanof Island. We also found two larvae from a tributary to North Fork Freshwater Creek on Chichagof Island. The larvae of this genus are known to live in shallow bodies of water, sphagnum bogs, ditches, and the vegetated littoral of ponds and lakes ( Cranston & Epler 2013, Harper & Cloutier 1986). This is a new record for Alaska.
