Detailed diagnosis is presented in Rueda et al. (2019), summarised as follows. Movable digit with two teeth in addition to apical hook; fixed digit denticulate, seemingly without subapical offset “Gabelzahn” tooth; pilus dentilis setiform; arthrodial process of chelicera shaped as a coronet-like fringe; corniculus horn-like; podonotal and opisthonotal shields fused; sternal shield with three pairs of setae (st 1– st 3); lyrifissure iv 3 absent; epigynial and ventrianal shields broad; anal opening small, at most one fourth as long as ventrianal shield; anterior section of endopodal shield fused with sternal shield; metapodal platelets incorporated as discernible sigilla in expanded ventrianal shield; tibia I hypotrichous (eight setae in Africoseius and Podocinella , and nine setae in Podocinum ); femur II with 10 setae and femora III and IV with six setae each.
