Centris cineraria Smith, 1854 View in CoL . 378.
Type data: Smith (1854) described this species based on an unknown number of females collected in an undetermined locality in Chile. A syntype specimen found at NHMUK is here designated the lectotype. The specimen has the following data label: Type H. T. [red-rimmed circular label, printed]\ B.M. TYPE HYM. [printed] 17B.925 [handwritten]\ [circular label] Chili [handwritten]\ Centris cineraria Smith. Type. [handwritten]\ cineraria Sm. Type. [handwritten]. The lectotype is in good condition and is coded NHMUK 010812615 in the NHMUK data portal.
Type locality: Chile .
Centris chilensis neoqueenensis Friese, 1924 View in CoL . 21.
Type data: Syntypes male and female ( ZMB).
Type locality: Argentina: Neuquén province: Neuquén .
Comments: Taxonomic decision for synonymy: Moure (1950). The type locality of C. cineraria cannot be further narrowed down than to Chile. This species was correctly interpreted by Moure et al. (2007) and Vivallo (2013).
