Type Locality: USA, North Dakota, Oliver Co., Mandan village near Fort Clark.

Vernacular Names: Northern Grasshopper Mouse.

Distribution: S Alberta, S Saskatchewan, and SW Manitoba, Canada, south through much of Great Plains and Great Basin region of USA, to NC Sonora and N Tamaulipas, México.

Conservation: IUCN – Data Deficient as O. l. durranti , otherwise Lower Risk (lc).
