Generitype of Lactuca Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 177. 1929).

Current name: Lactuca sativa L. View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).

Note: De Vries & Jarvis (in Taxon 36: 142. 1987) provided a detailed review of the original elements, illustrating many of them, including their chosen type (as f. 1), but they were unaware of Alavi’s earlier choice.
