Geographical distribution: endemic to the Neotropical region, occurring in Mexico and Cuba.
Material from Cuba: La Habana, Santiago de Las Vegas, 31.X.1932, S. C. Bruner leg., 1 ɗ, 1 Ψ (KU). Soledad, 14.II.1925, J. G. Meyers leg., 1 Ψ (KU), Camaguey, VIII.1924, J. Acuña leg., 1 ɗ, 1 Ψ (KU); 21.VII.1923, J. Acuña leg., 1 ɗ (KU) ( Hungerford 1948).
Habitat: no detailed habitat data available; apparently co-occurs with S. bradleyi and S. cubiensis in Camaguey Province.
