Type Locality. Finegan Springs , 29.9011°, −100.9987°, elevation 405 m, Devils River State Natural Area, Val Verde County, Texas, USA ( Fig. 1 View Fig ).

Material Examined. Holotype ♀ in EMEC, labeled “ USA: Texas: Val Verde Co. / Devils River State Natural / Area, Finegan Springs , 405m / 29.9011°, -100.9987°, 25-II- / 2010, J. R. Gibson & P. H. Diaz ” // [genitalia vial] // “ HOLOTYPE Typhloelmis finegan Barr ” [red label, handwritten].

Habitat. Snake Springs is a small group of headwater springs in Dolan Creek, a spring-fed tributary to the Devils River. Three drift nets were placed at the spring orifice, and just above a short cascade into the creek. Water discharges from a small con- duit along a bedding plane in Cretaceous carbonates, at the base of a cliff in a canyon.The site is well-shaded and surrounded by sycamore trees and dense poison ivy, both of which have fine roots growing in and around the spring orifice and cascade.

Remarks. This specimen is only the second adult record of this species, and like the holotype, it is a female. However, it is smaller, measuring 3.7 mm long and 1.15 mm wide, whereas the type measures 4.1 mm long and 1.2 mm wide. The new specimen was collected approximately 1.8 km from the type locality and was compared with the holotype.
