Atelidae Gray, 1825 View in CoL
Atelids include the largest species of New World primates, all of which are prehensiletailed inhabitants of the primary forest canopy. Four genera are currently recognized, of which three ( Alouatta , Ateles , Lagothrix ), each represented by a single species, occur in the Yavarí-Ucayali interfluve.
