Oxyporus (Oxyporus) wenchuanus sp. nov. ( Figs 9 – 13 , 16 – 17 )

Diagnosis. The new species is similar to O. (O.) jiangi sp. nov. from Sichuan Province, but can be distinguished from the following characters: (1) head without spear-shaped black spot on vertex; (2) the color of the head and pronotum are brownish; (3) the color of sternite 8 light yellow; (4) parameras apical more sharp and without seta at apex.

Description. Measurement. BL 8.8 mm, FBL 5.0 mm, ML 1.6 mm, HL 1.3 mm, HW 2.2 mm, TL 1.5 mm, AL 1.5 mm, LW 1.0 mm, PL 1.5 mm, PW 1.8 mm, ELL 2.2 mm, ELW 2.5 mm, EYL 0.6 mm, AW 2.4 mm, ESL 1.6 mm.

Body moderately stout, surface almost smooth. Head brownish, antennae, labrum, maxillary and labial palpi brownish yellow, mandibles and underside of head black. Pronotum brownish with an oblong black marking on midline, and scutellum black. Elytra brownish yellow, each with a large black marking at outer apical angle extending from posterior half of lateral margin to apex of suture; prosternum and meso-metasternum black; legs brownish yellow. Abdomen with tergites 3–4 brownish yellow with black median spots; tergites 5–7 forming a large black marking except outside of basolateral ridges brownish yellow; tergie 8 completely light yellow, and all abdominal sternites black except 3–6 paratergites yellow ( Fig. 9 ).

Male. Head subquadrate, wider than long (ratio 1.47), broader than pronotum (ratio 1.22) and almost as long as pronotum, gently arcuate behind eyes, posterior angles obtuse; eyes slightly large and convex, temples distinctly longer than eyes seen from above (ratio 1.67). Antennae almost as long as head; segments 1–4 elongate; segments 5–10 transverse, slightly asymmetrical and flattened; apical segment narrower than preceding segment; all antennal segments with long setae near apices, segments 6–10 glabrous medially and covered with fine setae laterally. Labrum broadly and deeply emarginate at anterior margin; mandibles shorter than head (ratio 0.87), moderately broad, inner edges evenly curved to acute apices; maxillary palpi with first segment shortest, second longer than third, slightly wider than last and almost equal in length; apical segment of labial palpi slightly shorter than length of eye (ratio 0.83). Clypeus with anterior margin broadly, shallowly emarginate medially; frons broadly, shallowly bi-impressed between antennal insertions; vertex nearly smooth, one setiferous punctures close to anterior inner margin of eye, another near posterior inner margin.

Pronotum wider than long (ratio 1.20), shorter (ratio 0.68) and narrower (ratio 0.72) than elytra, lateral margins slightly sinuate anteriad and subarcuately narrowed posteriad, widest at about anterior third; disc almost impunctate, deeply transversely depressed before middle, two rows of small punctures along anterior margin, a row of small punctures near middle of posterior margin; six setiferous punctures along anterior margin, two ones close to posterior margin, four ones at or near lateral margins.

Scutellum impunctate, surface almost smooth, rounded at apex.

Elytra wider than long (ratio 1.14), slightly widened apicad; each elytron with a row of regular small punctures along suture, two longitudinal rows of coarse irregular punctures in middle, a few scattered coarse punctures on medial and lateral sides of rows; apical, lateral, and posterior margins bearing a few short setae. Hide wings well developed.

Abdomen with tergites 3–4 each with a pair of pruinous spots in middle; punctation of tergites very sparse and vague, surface between punctures with exceedingly fine and dense microsculpture of transverse striae; color of sternite 8 light yellow and almost truncate at posterior margin ( Fig. 10 ).

Aedeagus slightly asymmetrical, median lobe somewhat widened apicad and slightly narrowed in base, with apical margin rounded ( Figs 11–13 ), parameras short and slender, gradually narrowed apicad, right lobe and left one without seta at apex ( Figs 16–17 ).

Female. Unknown.

Material examined. Holotype ♂, China, Sichuan, Wolong Natural Reserve , Wenchuan County (31°10'N, 103°15'E; elev. 2200 m), 9 August 2015, coll. Xianghui Yan. Paratypes. 1♂, same data as holotype .

Habitat and distribution. The species was found in fungi. It is at present known from the type locality in Sichuan Province .

Etymology. The specific epithet is from the partial Chinese name of the type locality, Wenchuan.
