DIAGNOSIS. This species is most similar to A. rhombobasis . Amorbia chlorolyca can be distinguished by its rounded valva with a sacculus that extends only to the margin of valva.
REDESCRIPTION. MALE. FW length 8.0–9.8 mm (mean = 8.8; n = 12). HEAD: Frons convex, unscaled (membrane white), vertex smooth, straw yellow, hood present, concolorous. Labial palpus mostly dark golden honey-colored laterally, inner surface beige, 2.0X length between antennae. THORAX: Dorsum smooth scaled, ground straw yellow, tegula concolorous. FW with costal fold narrow (0.02 mm), 0.25 length of FW. Ground straw yellow, discontinuous line of dark brown scales between median and postmedian area from costa to R 2, an isolated patch of brown scales on costa in postmedian area. Fringe yellow. Apex slightly produced. HW straw yellow. ABDOMEN: Straw yellow. Genitalia as in Fig. 88 (slide # RL719, USNM, Brazil, Santa Catarina, Nova Teutonia; n = 3). Uncus well developed, thin, curved apically, with circular base. Transtilla rectangular, with numerous spines over mid-posterior margin. Valva rounded. Sacculus sclerotized, 0.8X length of valva, extending only to margin of valva, slightly emarginate in basal 0.33. Aedeagus ca. as long as valva, stout, bent ca. 0.6 from base .
FEMALE. FW length 10.0-11.2 mm (mean =11.1; n = 9). HEAD and THORAX: As described for the male, except male secondary sexual characters of male and line of darker scales on FW absent; subbasal, median, and subterminal fascia darker. ABDOMEN: Genitalia as in Fig. 110 (slide #USNM 88259, Brazil, Nova Teutonia; n = 2). Lamella antevaginalis developed into lateral triangular pockets; median sinus rounded posteriorly, flared outwardly anteriorly. Ductus bursae 2.0X length of papillae anales, uniform in width. Ductus seminalis from posterior end of ductus bursae.

DISTRIBUTION AND BIOLOGY. This species is known only from southern Brazil between 100 and 500 m elevation (Fig. 138). The early stages are unknown. It has been collected in every month of the year except by March, April, and September.
