DISTRIBUTION. — Global distribution: northern New Zealand, New Caledonia, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan (Pacific Ocean side), western Indian Ocean, shells in 630-2800 m. Distribution in the New Caledonian region: Chesterfield Plateau, west coast of New Caledonia and Loyalty Ridge, shells in 630-1618 m.
REMARKS. — The diverse records of this species by various authors should be reviewed, as they probably include more than one species.
