Type Locality: Brazil, Amazonas, Borba, Lower Rio Madeira.
Vernacular Names: Plain Brush-tailed Rat.
Distribution: Amazon Basin of Central Brazil from Rio Madeira east to Rio Tapajoz and north to lower Rio Negro.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).
Discussion: Karyotype has 2n=22 and FN=38 ( Patton and Emmons, 1985).
