Habitat. Intertidal, reef flats and seagrass beds, on sandy, rocky, and mixed substrates.
Remarks. Yap-Chiongco (1938) reported a variety of Cl. corallinus he called var. spinatus based on three specimens from Puerto Galera, Mindoro, Philippines. Unfortunately, the specimens examined by Yap-Chiongco could not be located.
