Type species. Cicada (Calyria) blanda Stål, 1862 ( Rio de Janiero ).

Remarks. Our records represent an extension of the genus into Argentina. Specimens have now been collected in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Peru, and Venezuela ( Metcalf 1963c; Sanborn 2006b; 2007a; 2010b; 2013).
