Remarks. This is a leafminer of Elaeagnus umbellata Thunb. (Elaeagnaceae) in Japan. The male genitalia are characteristic in having a pair of three black finger-shaped processes projected laterally in postero-lateral corners of the phallic hood, and one tubule of the distiphallus ( Sasakawa 1954a: Fig. 5b). The larval posterior spiracle is trifurcate as that of Japanagromyza tristella , but the pores are only 27 or 28 in total (in tristella , 37- 48 pores) ( Sasakawa 1961: Figs. 18 and 20 View FIGURES 14 – 20 ).
